  Meet Fauzia         


"I believe our politics can be better. When we put people above special interests, when we listen to the community and work for them, we can and will see change".

Fauzia Rizvi is a dedicated mother, engineer, business owner, and community advocate. With extensive expertise in water management and consulting, she joined Western’s Board of Directors in December 2020, representing Division 5, which encompasses the City of Corona, Home Gardens, El Cerrito, and part of Temescal Canyon.


Director Rizvi contributes to several key committees, including Western’s Engineering, Operations, and Water Resources Committee, as well as its joint committee with Elsinore Valley. She also represents Western on the Western Riverside County Regional Wastewater Authority and the Santa Rosa Regional Resources Authority, and serves as the alternate member to the Western Riverside Council of Governments.


Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Fauzia Rizvi has resided in Corona, California, for over 25 years, where she is raising her three children. Her community involvement is extensive, including roles as a PTA mom, work with the Interfaith Coalition, and volunteer efforts with organizations such as the Corona Norco Interfaith Association, Beloved Corona, and Cops & Clergy. In 2020, she made history as the first Muslim woman to hold public office in the Inland Empire.


In addition to her board roles, Director Rizvi serves on the Riverside Community College District’s Citizens Bond Oversight Committee. She is also the President of For the People Taskforce, a non-profit organization addressing food insecurity and utility debt throughout the Inland Empire. Her efforts have been recognized with numerous awards, including being named Woman of the Year by the California State Assembly in 2021.


In her professional capacity, she owns and operates an accounting firm in Corona.
